About me
Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Lucie.
I am 43, married, with 4 wonderful children. I love walks in nature, getting lost in a good book, soaking in a bubble bath and I’m a self-confessed crazy plant lady.
My career in the beauty industry started over 25 years ago. After qualifying in level 3 beauty therapy I went on to work and continue developing my skills in a number of hotels, spas, and salons.
As my young family continued to grow, I became self-employed, firstly as a beauty therapist, and then for 10 years as a makeup artist and bridal specialist.
However as time went on, the beauty industry evolved, my career evolved, my family life evolved and I evolved as a person and it all started to feel not quite right anymore.
I decided to hang up my makeup brushes, which was quite an emotional rollercoaster and ended up getting a full time job in a totally different line of work, just to help pay the bills.
As it turned out, that was most definitely not the path for me. And whilst it was an extremely difficult path, on reflection, it was actually where the most growth happened and my true passion and calling became crystal clear.
I took some time out to re-evaluate, re-focus and realign with my true values, completed 6 specialist courses, revamped the studio….and here we are.
My vision for the Wellness at the Willow Studio was to create a tranquil environment to escape the chaos of life. A place to feel safe, let go, relax, and allow your mind, body and soul to be nurtured.
I want to move away from the quick-fix side of the industry where the focus is all on results and not on the cause or the journey. I want to take the focus off societal pressures of “perfection” and embrace acceptance, self-love, ageing well, and the power of human touch and connection.
My approach to beauty now is from a more holistic view point, that encompasses our whole wellness, mind, body, and soul. It’s not just about how we look, but how we feel too.
I really believe that beauty is more than skin deep. That it’s not just what we put on our skin, but also the state of our minds, the foods we nourish our bodies with, our environment and how we speak to ourselves. It is all interconnected.
One of the most disruptive factors in each of our lives is stress. It plays havoc with our physical and mental health, our gut, our skin and overall wellness.
By lowering our stress levels, being more mindful in all areas of our lives, and allowing our minds and our bodies the time to switch off and reset, we can start our own journey to becoming the best version of ourselves and allow our inner beauty to shine through.
I look forward to welcoming you at Wellness at the Willow studio soon.
